Col
d’Orcia collected over the years more than 50.000 bottles of
old vintages of Brunello di Montalcino and carefully preserved them
in its cellars.
This is a really unique and valuable patrimony, which only few Italian
estates can claim.
In 2003 the Marone Cinzano family celebrates their 30th anniversary
of activity: under their ownership Col d’Orcia has been developing
constantly, enjoying an ever-increasing success all over the world.
For this occasion these historic vintages will be released this
year: such authentic gems will be reserved for selected customers,
who will be able to appreciate and even increase their value.
The bottles, carefully selected from those with an intact content
level, have been accurately examined against the light to check
the amount of sediment and the intensity of the colour. The original
labelling has been scrupulously maintained.
The historic vintages are packed in 6 bottle wooden cases, containing
2 bottles from each vintage and a document of authenticity signed
by our Chairman, the Count Francesco Marone Cinzano.
The historic Brunello vintages will be auctioned in the forthcoming
Christie’s sales in London: the wines have widely exceeded
the rigorous analysis of their wine expert.
